Boa Tardes! When I think of My trip to Brazil the quote, "I came, I conquered" comes to mind. I spent several weeks fretting over this trip and My lack of Portuguese. As time wore on, I settled down to the realization that it was actually kinda nice that no one expected Me to talk. finn, you will be happy to learn that I found out that a "wink and a smile" transcends a language barrier.
We met Charles' precious brother when we got to the airport. His quiet girlfriend was with him and the two of them pretty much shadowed us the whole time we were there. That was fine with Me. The look of absolute adoration in his eyes when he looks at Charles was worth every penny and every moment spent worrying about My inability to speak Portuguese.
Regardless of how beautiful Brazil is, it is still evident that it's a third world country. I knew this to be true the very moment I was informed there was no Starbucks there. Brazilians don't carry coffee around with them. They have wonderful little sidewalk cafe's and drink tiny little cups of coffee that you have to move the spoon before it sets up. Next trip, you can be sure that I will have My trusty Starbuck's travel mug with Me.
I have SOOO much more to say.. and comments to make to finn and even to andrew who now has some assignments to show Me. finn, I will say this... I do love you.. but it's true.. I wanted to make sure you would come get Me if something happened.... he he
More to come.....
